KENT POLICE STATION PROJECT

  • City of Kent is the building of the new $10.2 million police station, which is currently under development and set to be located at the corner of DePeyster Street and Haymaker Parkway. 
  • The 33,750 square-foot facility will feature 53 parking spaces. 

  • It will be LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified, meaning a variety of trees and shrubs will be planted on the new property.
  • The Police Department has 43 sworn police officers, 13 dispatchers and 10 support personnel.
GROVE CITY LIBRARY PROJECT

  • The Grove City Library opened on October 16, 2016. 

  • It is 46,000 square feet in size, which allowed for double the amount of public space compared to the previous location on Park Street; an expansion of the children's department, including an early literacy section and teen room; the addition of quiet study space; more public computers with internet access; and expanded meeting rooms.

WILLOW ISLAND HYDRO ELECTRIC PROJECT

- AMP Public Power Partners & The Ruhlin Company

Willow Island, Rock Ridge VDC, VDC


  • The Willow Island Hydroelectric Project is owned and will be operated by American Municipal Power (AMP). It is one of four hydroelectric projects currently underway along the Ohio River.
  • This Hydroelectric Project is expected to produce an annual output of 239 million kWh (239 GWhs) of a clean electricity

  • The Powerhouse will use 2 each 17.5 MW bulb type turbine and generating units with a FERC rated capacity of 35MW at a gross head of 20 feet. These units are being provided by Voith.
  • AMP is constructing the largest new hydro-electric deployment of its kind today. The four projects will total more than 300 MW of power to 79 AMP member communities
