- The Willow Island Hydroelectric Project is owned and will be operated by American Municipal Power (AMP). It is one of four hydroelectric projects currently underway along the Ohio River.

The Powerhouse will use 2 each 17.5 MW bulb type turbine and generating units with a FERC rated capacity of 35MW at a gross head of 20 feet. These units are being provided by Voith.
- AMP is constructing the largest new hydro-electric deployment of its kind today.
The four projects will total more than 300 MW of power to 79 AMP member communities
